The BASIC course (level 1) is a one-day initiation. You will learn and discover basic the backcountry risk prevention.
The INTERMEDIATE course (level 2) is the next logical step of the level 1 course and its application in the field.

You will also be introduced to the scope of skills required to stay safe in the mountains. The main goal is to inspire you to continue learning.

Its objectives are to introduce you to the basics of risk prevention related to off-piste practice.

Valais Avalanche Course – The spot :

 

Central Valais is our favourite playground. Hérens Valley, one of the swiss backcountry paradise is our basecamp. However, we will be glad to move according to your wishes or conditions of the day.

Become aware of the complexity of knowledge to acquire to evolve in safety.
Stimulate your desire to learn more.
Privilege the practice, without neglecting the theory
Being able to follow a risk estimation process
Therefore, the course structure is based on a typical day in the mountains. From the first contact with the group to the debrief at the end of the day, you will easily be able to follow every step of the scenario as it unfolds.

 

The Basic Avalanche Course (Level 1)

Theory : Avalanche & Snow basic knowledges – Plan your freeride or skitouring day with the 3X3 and GRM methods
Practice : ECT (extended column test) – Basics for using transceiver, probe and shovel and search for avalanche burial victims.

 

The Intermediate Avalanche Course (Level 2)

Briefing et prise de contact.
Rappel des méthodes 3X3 et MRG
Prepare a freeride or skitouring day with the 3X3 and GRM methods.
Freeride or skitouring day on the terrain and real conditions.
Identification of favorable areas and initiation to the rules of communication and movement.
Risk reduction methods.

The 80/20 method

 

La méthode 80/20 (Pareto principle)states, for many events, roughly 80% of the effects come from 20% of the causes. We apply this principle in our ski coaching by focusing only on the essential notions.
